PAUSE 2018

14-19 August

We invite you to pause.

Quite possibly the most intimate and relaxed music and arts festival in the world.

Taking place in a spectacular setting high in the mountains of Andalucia and created by the musicians and visual artists themselves, pause brings the arts to the wild that so often inspires it in a celebration and exploration of man's relationship with nature.

We launched last year with five nights of open-air concerts featuring Maria Joáo Pires and an assembly of prodigious talent from around the world.

Concerts held at night under the stars will once again be at the heart of the festival. The artists – many of whom have recorded and performed together in the past – will be crafting a programme of music that allows for spontaneity and magic.

We open this year with a choral piece written especially for the festival by Rupert Huber, performed by local choirs as part of the fringe festival activities in on and off-site venues.

August 10-14 2018: Musicians' workshops and improvised sessions.  Open to La Donaira guests only. Reservations

August 14 2018: Opening night, original composition by Rupert Huber performed by 3  local choirs.
